RainbowsGB would like to pay tribute to Kate Griffin, the Head Teacher at Christ the King Primary school in Wavertree, Liverpool who died earlier this year.

Following her death her family asked that all donations be given to RainbowsGB and we have been overwhelmed by the response of people who knew and loved Kate.

Liam Fay, a teacher at her school described her as,

“A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an educator, a leader, an inspiration, a friend. Kate Griffin wore all of these titles with great pride and great humility. The power to be humble, admired and yet achieve so much in such a short space of time is a combination of a rarest form. The embodiment of a pure heart and endeavour pure in its intention “

Kate Griffin clearly had a tremendous positive impact on those who knew her and It is also clear that this impact goes forward into the future.

We are so very grateful to have received the donations which currently stand at £1334.88 and we will ensure that this legacy is used to help schools and communities support children and young people who are experiencing loss and bereavement.

From the many wonderful things written about Kate it is apparent that her belief in the role of a school in supporting the holistic development of every child was very evident.

At RainbowsGB we strive to be a part of this process in helping support the development of the whole child, most especially when they are experiencing loss in all its kinds.

Our thoughts are very much with Kate’s family and we thank them very sincerely for their generosity and kindness in giving us permission to share our tribute.

The Trustees of RainbowsGB.
