Katie has completed her amazing Polar Bear challenge completing over 12,000 m and raising the wonderful total of over £800, and has received a GOLD medal for her efforts.
Well done and a big “Thankyou” from Rainbows Bereavement support GB.

“I did my first compulsory swim for Feb 2021 this evening. Sea now 8.6 degrees and choppy! Swam nearly 9000m so far and end in sight at end of March “
Katie has now completed over 1300 metres against her target of 5000 metres and its only early November. To date donations of over £507 (14/01/2021) have been made.

I am going to attempt the “Polar Bear Challenge” to raise funds to support the great work of RainbowsGB.
“The Polar Bear Challenge” runs from 1st Nov to 31st March and the aim is to complete a set number of swims and distances outdoors in areas, including rivers and lakes.
However, as I live in Jersey it will all be just be in the sea! I am doing the gold level which means the rules are: Only swimsuit, single silicone hat and goggles may be worn. No neoprene wetsuit, boots or gloves can be worn.
I will be aiming to swim 5000m in the allocated time! A challenge both physically and mentally.
