Sheila O’Neill my elder sister died peacefully in her sleep on 28th March 2022.

Sheila was one of the founding members of Rainbows GB.

In 1994 Sheila and Sister Teresa Flynn went to the USA to train as Rainbows Registered Directors.
Sheila & Teresa together with Father Des Seddon were then greatly instrumental in the development of Rainbows in many Liverpool & NW schools and the subsequent introduction of Rainbows across the UK.

Sheila remained an active and very successful RD and trainer until retiring a few years before her illness in December 2016.

Over the last five years Sheila spent a long time in hospital(s) and was eventually able to move into a Liverpool nursing home where she received excellent care.

Despite Sheila’s memory problems, she always asked me to update her on how we were doing with RainbowsGB.

Sheila’s leaves husband Mike who is also a great supporter of RainbowsGB and is a significant fundraiser for the Charity.

  1. I remember Sheila with great fondness at RD training and at subsequent Rainbow conferences. She was always so lively and enthusiastic.
    RIP Sheila.
