We are delighted to let you know how we have been turning your donations into support for children and schools. The Rainbows team has focused on the Northwest as the region most affected by Covid deaths and Plymouth due to the double-impact of Covid and the tragic shooting incident in 2021.
In both areas, Regional Directors are working with 6 schools and only this week, Andrea Rodgers, Regional Director for the Southwest, ran a training session for 15 facilitators across all 6 Catholic Primary Schools in Plymouth from CAST, the multi academy trust.
Andrea said “Such a lovely bunch of professionals, ranging from pastoral support assistants, ELSAs, SENDCOs, admin staff. Without exception, all the individuals trained were so keen, to make a difference using the Rainbows training and resources. Many voiced that they were asked to support children suffering loss but hadn’t felt they had the skills or materials to do so. There was a lot of joy when each school was given two boxes of free resources and they couldn’t really believe the contents”
We are so thrilled that we have been able to offer Rainbows support to these schools and look forward to updating you on the other schools as we move forward. The next area of focus will be in the Northeast, London, and the Southeast.
Thanks again for making this possible with your generous donations. We will keep you posted as we move towards our target of training and providing resources to 25 schools for free!
